Weekend wonders

We had an event filled weekend, the start of December and the start of trying to fit in family get togethers. We spent the afternoon at a cousin gathering on my side of the family.  I won't bore you with the pictures, but it was another loud, laughter filled afternoon.
We made it back to town in time for some dinner and to find a good spot on the curb to watch the Santa Claus parade.
Marching bands, decorated trucks, sirens blaring, elves, the calliope worked and Santa himself. We were lucky, the weather was perfect: no wind, no rain, no snow, temperatures cold but not freezing. We couldn't have asked for a better evening.
Sunday afternoon this changed the scenery. It will be all melted by this afternoon but this is just the beginning of winter and we live in Michigan, so....
Outside the dining room window this morning the deer were looking for greenery.  They nibble on the trees as winter gets harder.

Last night I put the last stitch in the second baseball quilt!  They are both finished!!!  Pics tomorrow.

  1. Congratulations on finishing the quilt. I just love the photos of the snow and the deer. Very refreshing when we are going through a heat wave, storms right now so maybe tomorrow we will be back to 36 not 46. A week of it is enough.
